The New Earth - a Cosmic View

In a recent seminar with Reshad Field (about Reshad Feild) he pointed out to me the work of Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet, who has established in southern India a Corporation for spiritual renaissance, called the Æeon Group.

Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet has been writing books for tens of years based largely on the teachings of Shri Aurobindo and the Mother, going back to the Vedic knowledge, and with references, among others, to Astrology, Gurdjieff and Reshad Field. Interestingly enough she also marries up the Zodiac with the cosmological Enneagram as we know it from Gurdjieff, though with her own interpretations.

There is a considerable amount of controversy about Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet; my approach to her ideas is unbiased. I was inspired by my first contact with her ideas on cosmology to hold this speach.

Reshad Feild recommended that I would get in contact with Ms Norelli-Bachelet and I naturally first wanted then to know who she is. Simultaneously to starting to study her work we were by chance given one of her books as a gift, the one called “The New Way”, volume 3 of “a study in the rise and the establishment of a Gnostic society”.

The ideas of Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet are put together in a way that I have not come across before. At the same time she remains in what I would call the Indian spirit, although herself she is not an Indian. There is a description written in 2003 of a journey to her centre called Skambha by an American pupil called Lori Tomkins (her web site). Apart from the numerous books by Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet there are plenty of articles on the mentioned quantumyoga web site and in the web site of the Æeon group here.

One of the latest articles Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet has written is about the necessity of a new direction for our time. She starts with noticing that the prevalent attitude to the values in our world is the direct result of the spiritual focus during the last thousand years; I would go further and say during the last two thousand years. She sees that the bearer of the collective “view of life” on the earth follows the spiritual direction of the past that gave this direction. The direction in the last two thousand years was the denial of everything “earthly”. Things connected with the earth were taken to be “only material”, “only bodily”, “only perishable” and these had no value in the Unity or in the spiritual view.

As a consequence this world became declared the “shadow world”, “the world of illusions” and the value of incarnation was not acknowledged. Time and the value of what is born and dies was not appreciated – and yet in these lie the further development of the ideas she has; I try to fill in the missing points.

The result of the wish to escape to God, to the eternal life, without seeing the value of the temporary, is that the spiritual world does not directly influence our doings, but only gives some impacts, which could manifest if the circumstances were favourable.

We are wasting our time existing on the face of this beautiful planet if we do not consider and become aware of what we are doing and what happens to the mother earth itself due to our irresponsible activity. Looking at it from this collective level one can not expect to gain anything even resembling a cosmic overview on what is taking place. A cosmic view would give us a possibility to act in a new way. This idea started to bug me. I knew Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet was right.

She is writing of a new direction. Only through this new direction we can, although it may take a hundred years, turn towards the feminine side of God, the world of becoming and through this turning it could then gain its proper value; the value of the incarnation could be acknowledged. We are like Shechinah, who is the feminine presence of God on earth, who is going from door to door and remains unacknowledged and excluded from the company.

Today we already live in the new Age of Aquarius. This means that the spirit of the age supports in its colouration only this idea of the Age of Aquarius and its energies. If we do not pay attention the same fate that happened to the humanity in the Age of Pisces can also happen to us now. The idea of the new age can be misunderstood, misinterpreted and therefore can lead us into the wrong direction.

It is not enough to “think globally, act locally”. What we need is that at least a small part of humanity works towards a spiritual direction. We need a cosmic overview and we need to take our responsibility individually. In other words: we need a bigger wingspread. Global is not enough. We need to find a new direction in this new era for humanity. We need a view from a higher place to take our direction. Think of navigation: it uses a point taken outside our immediate goal; earlier it was often the magnetic field of the earth or a star outside our solar system and these days more often a satellite. The orienteering takes place with the help of a point outside our goal with which we can steer ourselves.

We can get this cosmic orientation from the great order of the world hierarchy through knowledge of the energies of the Zodiac and how these work. The action of these energies on the individual level is similar to the action on larger entities like the humanity and the organic life on earth. When we recognize how the different Ages function we can also avoid the misunderstandings that result from their action.

Anything that comes down from the world of ideas can be misunderstood and will be misunderstood by the collective humanity. What has gone wrong in the 2000 years of the Age of Pisces?

The energy of the Pisces is the energy where the return to the Unity is a fixed idea. The emotional wish to return before landing on the earth is a typical sign of the Age of Pisces. When through the past 2000 years this was the energy saturating humanity then the return to the source was also much more important than arriving here on the earth. To be incarnated, like any birth, is tight and difficult; it takes place in the darkness and is full of pain and restrictions. When we are saturated with the energy of the return then we want to escape as soon as possible. The people with the Pisces energy remain children without responsibility and long for the return to heaven.

This is what happened to humanity and not only in Christianity, but also among others, like in India. India is a classical example of this return. The whole earth had this tendency. It is against this tendency that those who established (or caused to be established) the different religions in this time tried to work against. With what? With the help of the opposite of Pisces: the Virgo.

In Hinduism this is the idea of Shakti, the beloved in beauty and in ecstasy, the feminine. But did it help? Not much! Nobody recognized the man’s beloved feminine in this world. (Perhaps nobody is a bit too much said; there were some exceptions.)

What then in Christianity. The essential in Christianity is that God became human; the incarnation. This was put aside and made just into an historic fact. As an idea the virgin birth was not understood; at least not by collective humanity. Again some individuals recognized in themselves the feminine aspect of God, mostly in the desert or in the monastery. However, this realisation did not spread out further. The Virgin was not an equal partner with the masculine God; she was unknown, not measurable and fishy.

The result was passivity, fishlike passivity. As I mentioned the classical example is India, where the fatalism of the whole of the Indian people relied on the theme “if it is God’s will then it will happen”. The role of making things possible in this world, in the time, was not recognized.

In Christianity the suffering due to the pain of incarnation was made into the main feature. This one aspect, suffering, was overemphasized and it was taught that in this world it is only suffering that has any value; it was important to undergo suffering and bear it with the help of God’s Will. This idea simply does not attract us today; the energy of the Pisces has lost its support.

What about the Age of Aquarius – what is supported instead? The idea of freedom, equality and brotherhood; this is what we believe in. This has been guiding humanity through such diversions as the French revolution and communism.

In the energy of the Age of Aquarius exist also a strong tendency not to come to the incarnation, to go half-way, maintain an overall view and hover above it. This was formulated by Pir Vilayat Khan: “to remain angel like”. In the 2000 years ahead of us there is still the danger of not going through the incarnation.

When someone has the overall view, like the youth of our time, who represent this Aquarian energy in pure form (this is also apparent in many individual horoscopes), then they do not go so deep that they would connect to the heavy matter and its difficulties. They have no understanding of anything outside the free flight; it is easier to go in and remain in the virtual world. They have freedom – it is nothing to fight for. In this respect we are all alike.

Can we learn anything from this? Can we at all develop and grow?

Hierarchy, the form in the whole cosmos and creation is denied and not seen. In our essence we are all alike. The hierarchy is in the function. It is always a question of stressing just one aspect of the reality. The reality can only be expressed in its opposites.

The problem is that one of the opposites is always left out so that we can exist in an uncomplicated way and that we be clear of our orientation. In the school the teacher must know more than the students and also to know how to bring the knowledge to those who are learning. The illusion of democracy is something that most of us swallow and never put into question. Through this and similar memes we are 100 % manipulated.

The hidden hierarchies function superbly. All advertising is built with knowledge. The one who makes it knows more than those who receive it and let it influence seep through unconsciously. This is the way this world functions.

The feminine opposite of the energy in the Age of Aquarius is Leo. We can see the powerful development of the feminine. It is not just the “female dominance”, which has sprouted up so forcefully – although this will develop further in a strong way. The feminine is overvalued and holding more power. We can witness how power structures are evolving, spreading and building nets with full control and powers of manipulation. These are to be found today in science, technology and business and many other areas of human activity. Aggression, war, destruction proceed with all the means possible. Let us not close our eyes for these things that are taking place in the visible world.

The earth and the mankind need a new direction. What was neglected during one era comes to power in another age. The neglected was the visible world, which now hits back. Everything that manipulates the process, health, finance, partnership etc., what helps us with these worldly things, we call spiritual. This has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with spirituality. These manipulations are attempts to bring under better control the processes in our world, often with good intentions, but also with thirst for gaining more power and financial benefits.

What is missing is knowledge. Knowledge is the only means that can help us in the Age of Aquarius; the only one. For this reason knowledge is used as a tool for manipulation. Only with the help of knowledge we can recognize these manipulative actions. With knowledge of the whole, fashionably named integral knowledge, I would not like to say we can protect ourselves, but rather that we are able to channel the energies in the right direction.

To give a simple example: individually we know the situation what happens when someone is angry and out of control, emotionally loaded, hit under the waist. When we try to bring such a person into senses, talk to him lovingly and point out the facts sensibly, what happens? It is like pouring oil on fire. Any energy input in this hissing uncontrollable fire will be transformed into negativity and will give more fuel for shouting and screaming and will give the angry one a clearer target on how to hurt the other. The only thing possible is to collect and draw away the energy. You all know what this person will then do; he will try to provoke more and thereby gains more energy into his mill.

What happens at the level of mankind? Again a fairly concrete example: a woman who has recognized that in Palestine people are going through terrible suffering; they are helpless and need help. She travels monthly to a village and helps the people. Out of her noble aim with readiness to make sacrifices, with her wonderful attitude of not waiting for any results or rewards, her attitude is so to say perfect. What happens with the energy that she in this way brings to the village?

One consequence is that the young boys get a spark to start fighting. This is another example of pouring oil into the fire. We can not take this energy to a place where the fire is burning. We should not bring nourishment to the fire that is already burning. These local help actions do not help. We can not put out a forest fire with a small water hose; it does not work - it is in another dimension. When we do not know that then we are wasting our energy.

This sounds brutal. I could say that there is enough suffering here in Switzerland and here the basic situation is relatively stable. There are many different groups of people who are in desperate need of help. So let us give the water where it is not being misused. We must know, to have an overall knowledge, an overview so that we do not waste the energy in the small undertakings.

“Love without knowledge makes a stupid saint.” It is not enough to know and not enough just to know – that makes an intelligent devil with power. “Knowledge fixes love” and brings to the earth concretely the knowledge of what to do and where and in which form the energy can be used.

This means that we need a direction, as I said in the beginning, and within this direction we can use the knowledge. At the time of tearing down we can not start building up; it makes no sense. To drag a person out of crises when he is on the way to get into it makes no sense. The old order must be demolished, however painful and frightful it is.

The same happens with humanity. Since the French Revolution this destruction of the old is going on. Pluto, having intersected the course of Neptune was having its effect directly on the earth without the protection of Neptune. The old must first be destroyed. It is highly questionable when we use our energies in small separate actions and try to clear these seeing the necessity for such actions and the need to put things right.

I am speaking of two different levels. On our individual level we are obliged to lend all the help we can. A Sufi has no permission “not to do anything”, but this does not refer to a large scale activity. The angel of death is not understood, neither on the individual level nor on the global scale, but it must do its work.

What can we do? As I have been saying to strive towards a cosmic view and take responsibility individually; out of this something can grow. With this goes that we should strive individually towards more understanding and knowledge for better to understand. When we have the overall view, when the overview opens to us more and more, then we can ask ourselves the question: “what can I do about it now?” In this way the problem we are confronted with can come into a free space, into a cleaned space ship earth prepared for its flight. The new is always lying in the debris of the old and can only grow when the old is cleaned out of the way. But the new growth should not stick its head up too early; it will be eaten up or beaten by a hail storm.

What can I do now? I am sitting here. How can I become responsible?

Reshad Feild had an idea; he worked together with Josef Huber (http://www.q-met.ch/), who is an engineer and who was able to give it a form. This is made of glass crystal that has 14 spires. I thought earlier that now he has really gone off the rails, but then Josef told me that it has a connection with the Platonic Solids. Once more I managed to swallow my laughter. Then from someone else I came across a hint that said it had a connection with the cube and slowly it began to dawn on me.

We are in space and the Platonic Solids expresses what that space is; the expression for space is the cube. We have been on and off exercising breathing by breathing in from the six directions and breathing out in these six directions; below, above, back, front, right and left. I don’t know if any of you had tried to find out what these six directions actually are.

Above and below is relatively clear: earth and heaven; the earthly materiality and in the heaven God. Back and front is also quite clear, the past and the future; the time that has gone and the time to come. Right and left is receiving from the right and giving to the left. These are the six main directions.

To these six planes of the cube are added the eight corners. This makes 14 directions. In every corner three of the six planes in the cube meet each other. For example above in the right corner in front, as seen from inside the cube, the above, the right and the front of the cube come together. Below left at the back are the earthly, the past and the giving.

I am urging you to work with this further; it is well worth your while. I would just like to give you a trick to it: work with linking the axis together. Link the left below with the right above and left above with the right below etc. This gives four axis and together with the three planes meeting in each corner?

The crystal form that Josef had designed looks good, moves and has a very high energetic effect that can be measured.

When we put together these things that I have been talking about, the Age of Pisces and Aquarius and this crystal figure it should be note that Reshad had in this connection seen that the crystal form is what the earth and the new age needs now to come in harmony with the cosmic order so that the idea of the Age can land properly here on the earth. It is helpful and useful to work with this form.

It is most important to understand in connection with the Age of Aquarius that out of the jar there is something pouring out and this something ends down here and builds a form. This is the key to the Age of Aquarius. In other words out of the form of the jar some energy is becoming free, but this free energy becomes a cosmic field of energy. It does not become an individual pattern that can be held, but instead a cosmic pattern.

When we give up our individual concepts, self-will etc. then we become under a greater law. We are then under the cosmic law under which the whole of humanity is subordinated. Gurdjieff called it Objective Knowledge. We are then under laws that are much “larger” than our own little laws. When we do not obey these “higher” laws we are ruined. We are going to have a gloomy future after another 2000 years in the Age of Capricorn where humanity has to dig itself under the earth, because the surface of the planet is destroyed.

What is important is that we not only see the freedom of all forms as the result of these energies, but that we can be directly under “higher” laws. This does not restrict our enjoyment of life. What it means is unconditional obedience and commitment to something higher than our little self. It means that we say with our whole essence “let your will be done in me”.

It means also that we can call ourselves human beings; that God can incarnate (infuse, inhabit) in us. Then we can see with God’s eyes and hear with God’s ears. Then we can be free.
